The TMS treatment chair in Rising Psychiatry's treatment room, with mountain views through the windows

One-Day TMS · Boulder and Steamboat Springs, CO

A full course of TMS in one day. Not seven weeks.

Standard TMS means 36 daily visits over seven weeks. At Rising Psychiatry, the full treatment course — mapping, 20 sessions, follow-up, and six months of maintenance — is delivered in a single day, on the Ampa TMS system. One provider, transparent pricing, honest screening.

Cash-pay only. $3,000 all-inclusive. No insurance, no surprise bills.

The real barrier

You looked into TMS. Then you saw it takes seven weeks of daily visits.

TMS made sense to you. Then you saw the schedule: 36 sessions, five days a week, seven weeks. You travel for work, live hours from the nearest clinic, or have a job, kids, a business. That schedule is not your life.

So you stopped looking.

TMS was never the problem. The schedule was. For many people with depression, anxiety, OCD, or insomnia, seven weeks of daily visits is not a realistic treatment plan.

That is what One-Day TMS exists to solve.

Side by side

The only real difference is the calendar.

Both protocols use the same underlying technology and the same clinical goals. What changes is the schedule — and what that schedule asks of your life.

Your treatment day

Here is exactly what your day will look like.

  1. Arrival and mapping

You arrive at the clinic. Michael Savage, NP reviews your clinical history, confirms your candidacy, and determines the treatment location and stimulation settings for your brain.

  2. Morning session block

The first block of treatment sessions begins. You are awake and comfortable in the treatment chair. You can read, listen to music, or simply rest between sessions.

  3. Lunch and rest break

You step away from the treatment chair. Eat. Rest. Take a walk if you want. The team will tell you when the next block begins.

  4. Afternoon session block

The remaining sessions are delivered. Most patients find the afternoon block easier than the morning, because the routine is familiar by then.

  5. Follow-up and next steps

Conditions

What One-Day TMS is used for at Rising Psychiatry.

Depression

Our TMS device is FDA-cleared to treat depression in adults who haven't improved on antidepressants. This is the most common reason patients come to us for One-Day TMS.

OCD

Our device's FDA clearance is for depression, so using One-Day TMS for OCD is off-label. Michael Savage, NP will tell you plainly what is cleared and what isn't, and whether it fits your situation. OCD care can also include Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP) therapy.

Screened, not sold

We screen for candidacy. We do not sell treatment.

You may be a strong candidate if:

  • You have depression or OCD that has not improved enough with medication
  • You have been clinically diagnosed and have a treatment history we can review
  • You can attend a single full-day appointment in Boulder or Steamboat Springs
  • You are able to pay $3,000 for the complete course
  • You want a non-drug option and are willing to be assessed honestly
  • You understand that results vary and no outcome is guaranteed

One-Day TMS is likely not the right fit if:

  • You are in crisis and need immediate care (call 988 or go to your nearest ER)
  • You have metal implants in or near your head (excluding dental work)
  • You have a history of seizures
  • You have an implanted medical device such as a pacemaker or cochlear implant
  • You are looking for weekly long-term therapy as your primary treatment
  • You cannot attend a full-day appointment in person

Pricing, upfront

Everything included. No insurance required.

No surprise bills. No prior authorization. No waiting for approval. You know the full cost before you start.

We do not bill insurance for One-Day TMS. That is intentional. It means you are not waiting weeks for prior authorization, you are not navigating coverage rules that were written for the standard protocol, and you are not receiving a surprise bill months later. You know the number before you commit.

Travel and planning

Coming from out of town? One day is the whole point.

Most patients travel in, so the full course fits one trip. Boulder is 45 minutes from Denver; Steamboat Springs is about 3 hours, or fly into Yampa Valley Regional.

What to plan for

One full day at the clinic.

Approximately 10 hours, including breaks. Plan to be unavailable for the rest of the day.

Travel the day before if you are coming from out of state.

Arriving the night before means you start your treatment day rested.

Do not plan to drive long distances after your treatment day.

Most patients are fine to drive, but arrange your travel so you are not covering 4 hours on the road immediately after 10 hours in the clinic.

A second night in town is often worth it.

Many patients stay the night after treatment and travel home the following morning.

Find Out If You Qualify

One-Day TMS uses the same underlying technology as standard TMS. The compressed schedule is delivered under clinical supervision with breaks throughout the day. The Ampa system is FDA-cleared to treat depression; running the full course in one day is an off-label protocol. Candidacy is determined in your clinical evaluation, not assumed.

Our TMS device is FDA-cleared for the treatment of depression. Delivering a full 20-session treatment course in a single day is an off-label clinical protocol based on recent evidence.

Accelerated protocols have been studied and are used clinically. Results vary by patient. We will discuss the evidence honestly during your call and will not overstate what to expect.

The price covers the clinical evaluation, mapping, all 20 sessions, follow-up, and six-month maintenance planning. We do not bill insurance for One-Day TMS because the standard prior authorization process is built around the 6 to 8 week protocol, and navigating that for an accelerated course creates delays and uncertainty. A flat fee means you know the cost up front.

Most patients do. Boulder is 45 minutes from Denver. Steamboat Springs is about 3 hours from Denver or reachable by air. The entire course fits in a single trip, which is the reason many patients choose this protocol over standard TMS.

You are awake and alert throughout. No anesthesia. You sit in a treatment chair while the pulses are delivered, and you have breaks between blocks of sessions. Most patients describe the day as long but manageable. Mild scalp discomfort or headache is common and usually temporary.

Most patients can drive, but if you have travelled a long distance, we recommend staying the night and travelling home the following morning. We will discuss this with you before your treatment day.

Our TMS device is FDA-cleared for the treatment of depression. Using it for anxiety, OCD, or insomnia is off-label, and we will discuss that honestly rather than overpromise. If One-Day TMS is not the right option for your situation, we will tell you.

We will tell you on the call, and we will point you toward a more appropriate option. We screen for candidacy, we do not sell treatment.

Payment plans may be available. Ask during your free call and we will walk through the options.

If seven weeks was the only reason you said no, one day changes the answer.
